  1. STOP DENYING disability compensation! Include any/all autoimmune & neurological diseases/disorder as presumptive illness.

Assume Veteran's service in Theater of Operations (SWA) is cause of any/all autoimmune/neurological disease/disorders. Assume any display of symptoms during/after Gulf War service is connected/caused/is a result of sevice in SWA & compensate. Don't wait to admit/compensate Vets like those who are sick/dying due to Agent Orange.

  2. Veteran Benefits: Delivering Compensation and Pension and Fiduciary Services

As research and environmental study evolves or new legislative and regulatory provisions are written regarding illnesses for Gulf War Veterans, the VA Compensation Service of the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) performs necessary rule-making and develops field training to support the changes. To further assist Gulf War Veterans, Compensation Service developed two training letters designed to inform and instruct regional office personnel on development and adjudication of disability claims based on Southwest Asia service. VA also completed a regulation to add functional gastrointestinal disorders to the list of disabilities that are presumed to have resulted from service in the Gulf War.…

  4. Getting better, but VA still staying away from GWI

It seems that the regional offices are getting better with granting claims but they still don't want to use the words Gulf war illness. They would rather split up all of the illnesses and put them through separately, rather than just call it Gulf war illness for everything, very strange. But getting there

  5. We stand together in solidarity with all the lives lost due to death and disability

We are the forgotten generation of Gulf War Deployed Veterans, NonDeployed Gulf War Era Veterans, Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom Veterans, and family members that are suffering with illnesses defined by Gulf War Illness (GWI).

We collectively see areas for immediate change:
    • Transparency from all agencies involved in the Gulf War Illness
    • All GWI research findings be declassified and shared with the public
    • NonDeployed Gulf War Era Veterans need inclusion in presumption laws/research/treament
    • Registry/Network for Ill Gulf War Era Veterans pre 9/11 through current conflict or until the war is declared closed by Congress
    • Train…

  6. Gulf war vets need to find a way to bind together to get what we are due from our government

Gulf war vets must find a way to get together and fight this together.
The only way to win this fight is as a unit. We need to form a group for all gulf war vets and fight this with the same devotion as we fought for our country

  7. Make C-file available to Vets and Follow Ttitle 38 rule WHEN IN DOUBT SIDE WITH VET

Make C-file available to Vets and follow Title 38 rule WHEN IN DOUBT SIDE WITH VET. The garbage I read in my C-file opened my eyes and gave me a clear picture of why my claim stalled. Most of the notes were false or half missing (the parts that support my case). If I didn't know my case I would say I was reading somebody else's C-file.

  8. Veteran Outreach: Getting Out the Word and Listening to the Feedback

VA is dedicated to improving the lives of Veterans of all eras and their eligible family members and survivors by providing them with the benefits and services they have earned. As research shows there is a lack of awareness when it comes to specific services, and Gulf War Veterans continue to require and rightfully expect timely and accurate information about VA's efforts to support them, VA has worked to develop a proactive and systematic effort for providing this important information and assistance on VA's services and benefits. As a clearinghouse of Gulf War Veterans Illnesses (GWVI) information, VA maintained the…

  10. Visibility of VA Gulf War programs and the GW Task Force

There is a problem when a entiity is not visible to the public. It operates internally making decisions that often are favorable only to that committee while not receiving tangible input from outside sources that might observe disparages the committee cannot. The GWVITF still operates as a closed door invisible entity with no website, no call in VANTS lines or ability to listen in to meetings, public minutes, or pretty much anything other than its annual reports. This is exactly how the defunct DOD Research Working Group functions that makes so many stale bad suggestions year in and out for…

  11. An army of one.

create a protocol that deals with veterans with gulf war illnesses. There are so many different symptoms from Neurological to Dermatology to Mental Health to Rheumatology etc. Do a trial run with a special task force for a gulf war vet where all these doctors can come together and report all of there findings and recommendations to one clinician to come up with one treatment plan that best suites the individual.I see so many times that each specialist prescribes what they think will work under there specialty on top of the other doctors recommendations, overlapping drugs on top of drugs…

  12. When will the Gulf War Discrimination End?

It has now been 21 years and VA now wants to hear our comments? I have noticed on many Vet pages the number of deferred Gulf War claims. This can't be due to improperly filled out paperwork, which only means group discrimenation. How can a system such as the Veterans Administration do this to it's own. This is not what Persident Lincold had formulated then for now. The only ones that control this at this time is the present VA Administration. Shame on you Mr. Gingrich and Sec. Shinseki, one saving is I didn't have to serve under ether of…

  14. VA Needs to start evaluating vets from that era for TBI since it was not done.I just found this out after 8 years of being medical discharge

VA Needs to start checking vets for TBI who are experiencing seizures and tennitis. I just found this out after being medically discharged from the Army 8 years ago.

  15. Irritable Bowel Syndrome

You have delivered a great report, as the other reports along this line. Seems the VA, including Regional Offices, have the freedom to either conform/not conform specifically to the Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Guess it's the same with the other "Conditions". Your report(s) seem to realize that there are problems associated with that conflict, at least read that way. I've filed twice and been denied as not associated with the Gulf War. Didn't have it before I left but starting having it while there and to this day. Made to feel like I'm begging. Will just have to live with it…

  16. Memory loss and concentration, I never read anything about memory loss and concentration problems.

I have really bad memory loss and concentration problems. I went from having a great memory to forgetting almost everything. I have a really hard time concentrating on normal daily activities. And trying to learn something new is very difficult.

  17. Why is there no research into the Anthrax Vaccine?

I am a vet who recieved the Anthrax Vaccine Gen-2 from 1998 to 2000. There is a consistent corelation between the vets who suffer from advers reaction to the vaccine and GWS. I developed Celiac Disease (an autoimmune disease that affects the gastroinestinal area as well as your brain and other organs) and have multiple mental and physical issues that are listed for GWS. My wife has fibromyalga that was brought on from the Vaccine. We can trace the ineptness of the Vaccine for GW Vets and our current generation. It bothers me that VA and DOD has divided us…

  18. RE-EVALUATION OF HEALTH STATUS OF SPOUSES AND CHILDREN OF PERSIAN GULF WAR VETERANS.

Since 2004 report was out .Spouses and Children issues are stopped from RAC or Task Force Report.

VA Environmental Agents Service examined "Only" 1,380 spouses and Children as of August 2002.(VA-053 VA Environmental Agents Service Spouses and Children Program )

None of Spouses had miscarriage or stillbirth where Mysteriously Never got involved this survey. (Pregnancy outcomes among U.S. Gulf War veterans: a population-based survey of 30,000 veterans.(2001)

Therefore,I don't believe that these numbers and these reports to be correct. I believe that these issues need further review and researched.

  19. Partnerships: Improved Data Sharing with the Department of Defense (DoD)

DoD and VA provide health care and benefits to the same population at different times in their lives. Environmental exposures occur during active duty whereas the potential clinical consequences can manifest later when the former service member is a Veteran. For this reason it is critical that VA and DoD share clinical and exposure data. The GWVI-TF continued to build robust relationships with DoD, through such forums as the Deployment Health Working Group, to ensure timely and thorough access to data related to military service. The experiences of the Gulf War Veterans continue to influence the development of ongoing data…

  20. Clinical Education and Training: Putting Clinical Knowledge into Practice

The GWVI-TF Clinical Education and Training effort focused on improving the VA’s ability to put critical clinical knowledge and expertise at the point of care. Where the Clinical Care work was aimed at synchronizing specialty and primary health care, this effort was in direct support, providing necessary clinical education, training, and subject matter expertise. The Veterans health Administration (VHA) Office of Public Health created a series of training modules now universally available online for patients and clinicians. Additionally, VA hosted a series of exposure seminars to enhance clinician knowledge about the health impacts of various environmental exposures. In the coming…
