This temporary lack of oxygen is known as hypoxia or oxygen deficiency, which is bad for the heart as well as the rest of the body. You need an up to date sleep study test to confirm the presence of sleep apnea. Only in this this way can the two be linked together, because the two are definitely service-connected from Desert Storm. You may need to be on a CPAP machine.
