An army of one.
create a protocol that deals with veterans with gulf war illnesses. There are so many different symptoms from Neurological to Dermatology to Mental Health to Rheumatology etc. Do a trial run with a special task force for a gulf war vet where all these doctors can come together and report all of there findings and recommendations to one clinician to come up with one treatment plan that best suites the individual.I see so many times that each specialist prescribes what they think will work under there specialty on top of the other doctors recommendations, overlapping drugs on top of drugs causing even more problems for the patient and decreasing the quality of life for the veteran. The main goal in my opinion would to be able to use the least amount of drugs and to optimize the mobility and functionality of the Vet, Also by doing this the Veteran is not being bounced around from doctor to doctor with no clue of what the next step is.

Let's face the facts, the VA just doesn't care about us or our illnesses. They are there to earn a paycheck and to hell with us veterans and our illnesses. As for prescribing drugs, they readily write scripts that ultimately do more damage than good and our quality of life goes down the drain. The VA just doesn't care. WE VETS DESERVE BETTER!

Why WRIIS if VA hospitals are not going to follow reccommendations made.....why not fee basis people out to civilian experts at local university medical school hospitals etc. Why model program at one place re VA SLC and no video transmission on va website of what they are doing? WE have illl gulf war vets in every state and overseas that are struggling and need focused evaluation and care now. Why not think outside the box and notify each and every unit deployed that each veteran needs to report in to VA and get a system set up like a deployment checklist where we got shots, law re wills, etc and just line us up and do everything needed done! THat way VA will know who is ill in each unit, rated, dead? Cause and age. WE need registry of those that have died complete with if they were rated or on ssd, cause of death, age//////This is a top need and that needs to be updated every 3 months!!! Where are the clinical evaluations(ccep) reports done by DOD and VA in the ninties and why do we have to start over and get on the gulf war registry again and then do claims. DO SOMEThING NOW and not just at WRIIS or model SLC

gadolinium causes hair loss, skin sores, plaque like lesions, muscle pains, contractures, deep rib/bone pain, neurological problems with balance, walking, and you will fall, decreased appetite, nausea/ vomiting, fatigue like you wouldn't believe. Worst part? The docs and radiologists, med students, all know this, not too many nurses. See Nurses Drug Handbook 2011, Contrast dyes, you'll only see CT scan that NAC is Rx'd, no MRI scan listed. They are lying to you , civilian and military hospitals. I know. it happened to me. I caught them fired them this past week. Met the MD in the MRI department as I wanted to know who poisoned me. Worth the look on his face and his reaction, no money in the world could cover that one. I told him that, exactly. I showed the pics of the gadolinium. see labs at www.mayocliniclaboratories.com, search gadolinium, they can test for it. not too expensive. get skin biopsy done. see nephrogenic systemic fibrosis. My first GAD scan was on active duty, 1993. numerous ones since then. Should have known better.

ever hear of the docs being sick? I only heard about one here locally in Denver.
Watch those MRI scans, they'll poison you even more so with the metal injected in you for the magnetic scan. gadolinium, it's chelated to elimate via kidneys, it's doesn't always get eliminated. I know , it happened to me, mimics the neuromuscular, skin symptoms of renal/liver disease as it has latent sx up to 18months or more, but they try to give you repeated MRI w contrast. SAY NO to contrast, gadolinium. search it and mri side effects. You won't believe it until it happens to you. this is a big coverup, the Yale MD"s are liars as they wrote the protocol. Shame on them. To those mothers of returning soldiers with TBI, they plan to give this "special care" to your sons/daughters w head injuries, functional MRI's, more contrast , longer exposure. See sx of Gadolinium poisoning or nuclear medicine in general or toxicology of nuclear medicines. It's happening right in front of you. -

I agree, this bouncing around and doctors not reading patients files before seeing them is ridiculous! I've had to go so far as writing a letter to the Chief of Staff of the my VAMC in order to get the medication prescribed by Dermatology because the Pharmacy refused to fill the prescription because they felt major hair loss in a 50 year old woman was cosmetic!! Why can't the VAMCs treat Gulf War Veterans like people and not cattle?
