I KNOW WHAT'S WRONG WITH MY BODY WHY WON'T THE VA DOCTOR'S LISTEN????
I am a Gulf War Vet. that became sick in Iraq. During the Oil Fires, I started coughing up Black crap. I was told not to worry about it. My coughing got worse when I got back to the States. I told the Army Doctors that it was do to the Oil Fires but they didn't believe me. I ended up getting a Medical Discharge, because of it. Now I have a mass between my lungs. GO FIGURE.. Also.. I have been having problems with my hips for the last 8 to 10 years.. The VA Dr.s have told me that, "IT'S ALL IN YOUR BACK" or "THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH YOUR BACK IT'S ALL IN YOUR HIPS".. So which is it?? Well I found out. I was right.. It was my hips.. Now that I know what's wrong they won't tell me what caused it..or I should say that they the Dr.s say that the GULF WAR has nothing to do with my hips.. YEAH RIGHT!!!!!!!! I have avascular necrosis. Which I have to have total hip replacement in both hips.. At the age of 44.. That's just like having my GALL BLADDER taken out in 1995, had nothing to to with the GULF WAR.. The VA Dr.s NEED to LISTEN TO THE VETERANS more about our conditions. AND NOT TURN A DEAF EAR,, TELLING THE VETERANS IT'S ALL IN OUR HEADS..

I have muscular pains througout my body but my legs have been giving me severe problems. Upon returning from the gulf war I had body parts go to sleep easily and numbing of the arms and legs, to name just a couple of problems I had. I'd never had that before. I did natural things and accupuncture and it helped. It has been years and I haven't done things and in the last few years it has been slowly coming back. In the last couple years my legs give me severe problems when sleeping with going to sleep, pain and now my lower back is popping out of place when just laying there and it hurts. The pain in my legs is in the muscle and bones and really hurts at times. I use to be able to move them and/or get out of bed and walk and it would help but now that does nothing. I recently had a massage and the massuere could feel the stuff and got it moving. When I first came back from the gulf my massuere then felt bumps under my skin that she'd never felt prior to the gulf. Also, after returning from the gulf war as I lost weight and had muscle weakness and got real thin I could be walking and feel nerves yank from my lower back/tail bone area as I walked. I had the same think happen to my shoulders. Also, I can be walking and almost fall when something pops in my leg and nerves shoot up my leg. It happens in my wrists and arms too. Don't know what it is but I was in excellent health prior to the gulf war and now I live in a body I no longer know and never know what might happen from one day to the next. And then you go to the doctors and tell them everything and they look at you like you are crazy and it is not possible and you are just trying to get disability. I would trade those docters bodies any day and they can have all the disability while I live a great healthy physical and mental life. All this plays on your mind after 20 years. I wish they could share part or all of it!

gents, i have been suffering from ailments that are unrecognizable to private doctors have never been introduced t5 what i'm feeling... I have been poked, probed, shaved, cut open, had biopsies done, and still have not gotten answers. I've been told that doctors at the VA would rather give you pills to keep you from coming back for real testing, because it keeps the budget better for the end of the year when they get their bonuses. Whether it's true or not, i don't know... but it seems to me like all The VA doctors are just there to collect a check and work from monday thru friday 8:00-3:30pm... I too suffer from pain in the hips.. it started from the inner groin area and moved up my hips towards the top sides of my hip... doctors can't figure it out... I have heard of some veterans developing "Multiple Myaloma" cancer in the bones and when your bones begin to leak your calcium into your body, it's hard to treat, and very dangerous.

I was permanently assigned to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from Apr 90 to Jun 94. During the oil fires the black clouds were carried to the the Northeast region of Saudi Arabia. Not only me, but many would wake up with black soot streaming from both nostrils while living in the housing. You walk anywhere inside or outside and there was a black film over everything. this lasted until the oil fires in Kuwait were extinguished. To this day, I could not tell you if it has had any inpacked. Although I am tired most of the time and have memory issues I don't know if it is from this smoke and soot. please tell me if anyone has had any symptoms diagnosed from the Gulf War oil fires.thank you.

Stop treating us like fools. we know our own bodies. LET US DO THE TALKING AND YOU LISTEN FOR A CHANGE!!! -

What is wrong with your hips? I am a gulf war vet with a mutitude of health problems stemming from my service. My hips are so weak. Both of them dislocate out of the hip joint . Very painful, and no one knows why. So they say. I think it's a cover up between the private and VA doctors. They all know about our conditions but don't want to say why. Quit playing games with us vet's VA. We were exposed to some serious stufff while in Kuwait. Wether it was the oil wells in the AL- WAFRA and AL-Burqan areas or near Kuwait city and the Int. airport. You don't go to MOPP level 4 for nothing. WHY ISN'T ANYONE LISTENING TO US!!!!. We are fathers and sons and brothers who want answers - the TRUTH. When we go to the VA for help, don't give us BS answers as if we are stupid and not capable of seeing right through it.

I agree with you as a gulf war vet also and operation enduring freedom, the VA Dr's are always trying to inform you of what the problem is as if they have the pain or as if they were called to duty to serve this great nation or ours. We as vets only want whats ours and thats support and understanding, and we went to the Gulf War a 100%, but none of us came back the same regardless to our MOS. Forget get protocall and help us get whats our benefits!
