Gulf War veterans with appropriate credentials should make up the majority of any task force or1st preference in research initiatives.
Why should individuals without any experience with the illness directly or indirectly be allowed to make contributions to the Gulf War studies. It is in my opinion that a forum of GWI vets with appropriate credentials be given priority in research development and task force membership. Since I returned from the Gulf War, I have suffered from this mystery plague. My son was born with spina bifida, and no correlation have been considered for children of GW veterans. There were high miscarriage and still born deaths after we returned home. This was not a coincendence.

I think it would be a good idea for each VA to have a committee for GWI and GWI Veterans should be a part of it to help them understand what we are dealing with. Communications is very important. Also, women vets need to be looked at closer regarding breast cancer and female problems. For 2 years after returning home from the gulf war my periods changed. I had chunks of what looked like dead skin that was a brown color come out of me. I slowly lost feeling inside through the years to feeling nothing when having intercourse and having pain upon entrance. This was never the case before the gulf war. I never hear of any communications about this. Others have these problems too. It affects your life. There is no disability for it either. The task force needs to bring this to the attention of everyone too. Let us not be forgotten! We served our country proudly!
