This report has a list of injuries and illness for GWV but they don't tell you how to put in a claim to for these issues.
I have tried numerous times to file a claim and been denied. Now maybe if they tell vets how to put in for GWI claim that might be better. All of the pain that I am having it is hard to keep going. But what can one do?

Riddle me this "BATMAN" what the #$*% do you do when you are so ashamed of how traditional VETS where treated. I have "forced" my self to mention little trivial things to our fabulous doctors that even I know are not rite just to be questioned and poked and prodded to the point of just saying to hell with it. It was my choice when I joined, I need to just deal with what the outcome was and hope I have no detramental effects upon the ones I love, the ones I come in contact with, and especially "FAMILY"

This is a significant problem. The VA claims process (particularly the online process) is oriented to the same methodology as the rating system - major body parts. There's no way to categorize the undiagnosed, multisymptom, multi-body part types of illness, symptoms, disorder defined by GWI. So we claim ankles, knees, and toes, but what we're really claiming is all our joints from our waist down hurt with nerve pains of different kinds, stiffness, soreness, edema. It's just extremely difficult to describe that in the format the form and the examiner is looking for. When you don't put it in that format, it's rejected. The same applies to nearly all of the other major symptoms of this undiagnosed multisymptom illness group we call GWI (but the VA doesn't).
This was a very excellent point, and one I strongly support!

turnyour power of attorney over to the american legion. File your claim for illnesses. start atout side head to toe and inside head to toe. write all problems down, even ones you do not think are problems. take it to the doctor and make them document and put all in claim form for disability.

I received a pamphlet when VA recieved my claim on how to properly submit a claim, recieved it from the Philadelphia VARO. It was 1/2 page long and was form dated Feb 2009. Now VA things have changed since then or are you sending out incorrect information because that is the form that needs to be used up first? (I believe there has been a new form in exsistence since this year with the new presumptives?) The savings to VA would be tremendous and the staffing requirement would also be reduced. Lets not look at job security but as a savings to all tax payers in general. If the VA can't do it correctly out source it.
