    I too was in Desert Shield and Storm served over a year at different bases working with ammo I didn't have diabetes before I left but got it after I got out in 1992 was denied from VA saying I was not diagnosed with it and I thought all was lost until my doctor looked at my medical records I had gotten and found signs of pre-diabetes look into this as pre-diabetes fasting blood sugars that show 100 or higher is the first sign of diabetes type 2 he helped me out with this
