Seizure disorder should be presumptive
I believe that seizure disorder or epilepsy should be made presumptive for gulf war illness. ALOT of gulf war vets have this and the VA blows it off as epilepsy and throws it out. If you check gulf war illness blogs, there are alot of vets complaining of seizures and what is the first symptom of sarin gas poisoning "SEIZURES".

Not sure about sarin gas around 2007 when I was deployed to Iraq, and since my deployment about 13 yrs later and just started having seizures out of the blue, never had history nor in childhood.

How long are the soldiers going before the first seizure, after being exposed to sarin gas. I'm a veteran of the Iraq war and global war on terrorism. I started having my seizures 9 yrs after I was discharged from the army and 13 yrs since that tour in Iraq ,I have been having them now since May of 2020 about 3yrs now . There not every day on average now it's one every three months.

I’m a Desert Storm vet. I started having absent seizures after returning from a 9-month deployment to Kosovo in 2009. In 2019 a PET scan revealed that something had caused the lower portion of my right temporal lobe to become dead. It was a result of the neurons being killed off. No medical explanation could be given. This is what was causing my seizures. I did research on Sarin and depleted uranium. Both cause destruction of neurons in the brain!

Seizures are not uncommon in Veterans , deployed or not. Read, Kenneth Tennant, DOMESTIC TERRORISM: USA vs Veterans and the First Amendment. The govt has no qualms about Presuming Vets are “Terrorists.” The USDOJ issued directives to treat veterans as terrorists. I have seizure disorder since 1995 but was not diagnosed until active duty 2003. I was put out with 10% VA and then raised to 20% because my seizures continued even though I take 6 pills a day. Also had PTSD and never knew it until I went in for C&P which added 30% because I was MP during gulf war so at 50% but still fighting the VA they are a bunch of ungrateful bastards

I too have had seizures, i just had one while driving to work a week ago. I totalled my car, thank god i didnt hurt anyone else. I know i was exposed, my mop tape changed color and they made us take the neostigmine tablets. The VA is denying my claim and only gave me 10%. I dont understand how this is not service related.

I've had things happen with what seemed to be a seizure too since the gulf war. I felt stuff in top of my head on my brain for years and in the last few years I have had what when explained people seem to think it sounds like a seizure so I do think it is related to the gulf war. Haven't been diagnosed. Keep it to myself. Don't need anymore heartache. The heat makes it worse.

Thought it was just me and at 39 it was just a freak thing that I developed Epilepsy out of no where... Especially when the docs tell you that! I wondered if it was related to my GWS, but hadn't heard of anyone else until this forum that also had Epilepsy and was in the Gulf War, Desert Shield, etc. But like someone else posted above, no one teaches you or helps you to PROPERLY fill out the VA disibility forms- especially if you have more than one medical issue. I noticed also, that the VA will relate and associate seperate illnesses, lumping them all together into one medical disibility rating. Then you will only get compensated for ONE disibility... nice. :( If anyone knows how to successfully re-apply for VA disibility with GWS and get compensated for more than just one medical problem, please contact me at jenicoe2001@yahoo.com. Thanks and we all need to keep our heads up and not give up!!

my seizures came out of no where, and the v. a. contends they are not service related. they blew up an amonition bunker that contained a nerve agent and I was in the vacinity. what other proof do they need. I am about to lost my job and everthing that I have worked for because, of the seizures. I am considering hiring an attorney for help . I too am having a hard time remembering things. I am only 50.

I'm a grandma seizure Marine. I can't even remember what I did this morning. But to this day, the V.A. is still throwing this out. I served U.S.M.C from 1987-1994. I was with 3/7 In the Gulf War and 1/7 Suicide in Somalia. I been trying to get help from the V.A. for many years now. Guess where I'm at? It has gotten worse, GET this, The V.A. has now lost my records. Can you believe that? Lost my records.....
