Diabetes and desert storm is also an issue!
Check on linking diabetes to list of medical illnesess from Desert Shield and Storm, a lot of vets have it ,munitions, oil, fires, PB etc etc.

I served in Saudi and Kuwait from 1990 to 1991. I was exposed to shots, pills, munitions, scuds and fires. I was diagnosed as a type one diabetic in 1999 after a significant weight loss. My daughter who was conceived after that time is also a type one diabetic. We have no family history of diabetes

I`ve had type 2 diabetes since 2001, being treated by the VA. They have said all along it`s not service-connected, nobody in my family has or had diabetes.

Vietnam veterans automatically receive compensation for diabetes type II, due to exposure of chemicals munitions as a presumptive illness. This is no different from the exposures Gulf War veterans, in terms of oil fires, smoke, depleted uranium, anthrax, pesticides, and chemical &biological weapons demolished by U.S. soldiers in Khamisiyah. Why is the consideration and compensation not the same?

Separated from service 1993, type 2 diabetic by 1996. Did it get caused by all the petroleum contaminants in that filthy country?

It is not the war, it is the meds they give is at the VA. Look at the side effects. The VA needs to start giving us comp on a secondary to the meds they give us.

Keep fighting, I have an appeal dated since 2000, still at the board. Get all you can in records etc, do get involved with the VA medical side and keep your appts! Get a Gulf War exam! I seperated 1998 and have Diabetes type 2 with insulin, Go figure? A proud Gulf War vet! Get a VSO rep involved, never hire an Attorn. they just want your money! They want to know if you had diabetes at seperation or within one year!
