Contact local groups dav, vfw, american legion ,etc.
We need to unite speak as one group not 15 groups. Some groups undermine other groups but we have the same goal.

VSO? Bad idea. I had to let mine go. They were rude, refused to pass along update info on the Gulf War Vet illness updates. When I asked them they got somewhat upset and down played me as if I was stupid. Finally I sent them some literature stating Gulf War illness is real, and (at that time as I understood it) VA was planning to "re-look" all the Vet pkts that had been denied. Then they sent me something I had already read. I told them all I asked was to be kept in the loop. They fired back boldly and cold...so I let them go. I can do bad by myself. They are Vets but I guess they got theirs, and (to me) their goal is to get contributions from sick Vets...If you want some real help, get Congress involved. Contact your Congressman...google your state, send an email and ask if they assist Gulf War Vets....They'll reply.

Most VSO's are as imcompetetent as the RO around the country . They take the same training as a VA adjudcator. WHY is this?

Agree Brian, we need to make the NGWRC a more productive entity!

The "one group" idea has already been tried. With too many lawyers in Congress, they are only doing what lawyers do best - deny... I propose putting Doctors, Immunologists and Scientists in Congress, ensuring somewhat a "balance" of ideas.

My VFW SO lost my initial packet while walking from 1st floor to 3rd floor -- need I say anymore about SO'S? Then the same SO calls me to take credit for my groundwork rating.
My VA hospital has tons of money to throw around because of the valet parking employees (10) and the "VIP" reps who stand around telling jokes to pass the day away must meet some criteria as the VA has many of them -- too many!
When sitting in a townmeeting with my congressman he boasted about the money the VA received. He stopped smiling when I asked how much of this money actually makes it to the Vet? We know how much makes it to the hospital, building, staff, employees, etc., but how much makes it to the Vets?

This is turning into a forum. A place where we all come together and read about simular illnesses and VA treatment. It's one way we can come together and share info on health statuses. I hate to think it's all for nothing untill the Task force comes together again and make us all feel happy thinking someone is going to care or help us...Amazing, of "All the money spent so far, you gotta wonder how much has gone to Veterans of the Guld War". Ya think they can grant us our due before it's all contracted out?

If the va would asemble a team of docters to interview the vet, they would be able to COMUNICATE better and plan a course of action. Instead of the vet going to 4 drs month all saying thats ortho, and ortho saying nero, and neuro saying see rematology, and rhuema tology saying well your seeing you primary next week.
A team sitting down for about one hour, listining ,examing, speaking with all in the room. Would see confusion ,but skillfully pick course for treatment. It works at the lahey clinic.
